Description

I offer therapy following the Psychosynthesis modality as qualified counsellor, accredited by NCPS.

My practice is informed by lived experience, a great deal of self-experimentation, and exploration, a range of educational courses and 7+ years of running workshops and facilitating groups. I draw on my training modality, as well as Radical Honesty, Non-violent Communication and Wheel of Consent training.

I have had a varied career in business development and marketing for 20+ years, living on different continents and collecting many life experiences. I’ve lived in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia.

My therapy is open to anyone, regardless of orientation and identity. I have particular experience and understanding, working with people who identify as queer, kinky, multigamous (non-monogamous), polyamorous and neurodiverse.

I see clients in-person from my practice in East London or online.

What is Psychosynthesis?

Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to psychology that views the human being as a dynamic, evolving system composed of multiple aspects, including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The concept of Self in psychosynthesis refers to the unique, individual essence of a person that transcends and integrates all of these aspects.

The Self is seen as the center of a person’s consciousness and the source of their personal identity and purpose. It is not to be confused with the ego, which is the limited and temporary sense of self that is based on social and cultural conditioning, past experiences, and personal fears and desires. The Self, on the other hand, is seen as the unchanging, essential nature of the person that is beyond the ego and its limitations.

In psychosynthesis, the goal of personal growth and development is to move towards a greater awareness and integration of the Self. This involves a process of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-realization that leads to a more fulfilling, authentic, and meaningful life. Psychosynthesis practitioners work with clients to help them identify and overcome obstacles to Self-realization and to develop the skills and capacities needed to live in alignment with their true nature.

  1. Anna

The work I did with Roy has been immensely valuable and transformative. I initially came for coaching sessions with my partner as we were opening our relationship and believe the support and guidance we received saved us from a lot of problems. My main concern was that my partner would agree to a new way of relating without fully taking in what that meant and taking responsibility for their own experience, that in the future there might be resentment. Navigating this transition with Roy’s insight, kindness and immense knowledge enabled us to meet each other safely with respect, curiosity and deeper communication – it strengthened our connection. Our relationship thrived during this period and continues to do so two years on into polyamory.

Following the coaching I had psychosynthesis therapy with Roy for almost a year. Talking to someone who is completely accepting of my sexuality and way of relating, and clearly meets that from a place of immense study, experience and kindness has been powerfully healing. Life changing. Our sessions gave me a truly non-judgemental space to recognise many patterns in my life including hyper-vigilance, C-PTSD symptoms and neuro-divergence. I feel these were met skilfully through many different techniques that have given me an internal tool kit to connect more fully with my emotions; understand and be with myself in a triggered state; feel into and set my boundaries and needs in a way that protects myself; and to recognise and meet, as they come up, the limitations I place on myself. I am full of gratitude for the work we did together, it has empowered and resourced me to live my life in a much fuller way.

Roy has really helped me realise my own stumbling-blocks and barriers; with gentle questioning and reflections to get to that place. He’s helped me find my voice; through learning better communication and putting boundaries in place to support myself going forward. Roy came in to my life at a time I was ready to dig deeper in to myself, and through that process I have come out the other side more self-assured and aware of patterns that weren’t serving me.
