My name is Roy Graff and I offer Psychosynthesis counselling and therapy. I am a qualified counsellor accredited by BACP and NCPS, and hold an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology.
You can read my professional code of ethics here, the NCPS code of ethics here and the BACP code here.
My practice is informed by my Psychotherapy training, 50+ years of lived experience, a great deal of self-experimentation and exploration, a range of educational courses in radical honesty, non-violent communication and wheel of consent, and a decade of workshop and group facilitation.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor in 2023, I have led a varied and globe-spanning career in tourism & luxury retail business development and marketing for more than two decades. I have lived in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia. A serious crisis in 2010, both personal and financial, forced me to completely re-evaluate my life and values, begin therapy and dig deep inside for self–awareness and self-love. Then in 2020, in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, the cummulation of these experiences led me to train in psychotherapy following the Psychosynthesis modality.
My therapy practice is open to all adults over 18, regardless of orientation, religion, race, sexuality and identity. I have particular experience and understanding working with people who identify themselves as existing in the spectra of LGBTQIA+, queer, kink, polyamory and non-monogamy and neurodiversity / neurospicy.
What is Psychosynthesis?
Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to psychology that views the human being as a dynamic, evolving system composed of multiple aspects, including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The concept of Self in Psychosynthesis refers to the unique, individual essence of a person that transcends and integrates all of these aspects.
The Self is seen as the center of a person’s consciousness and the source of their personal identity and purpose. It is not to be confused with the ego, which is the limited and temporary sense of self that is based on social and cultural conditioning, past experiences, and personal fears and desires. The Self, on the other hand, is seen as the unchanging, essential nature of the person that is beyond the ego and its limitations.
In Psychosynthesis, the goal of personal growth and development is to move towards a greater awareness and integration of the Self. This involves a process of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-realization that leads to a more fulfilling, authentic, and meaningful life. Psychosynthesis practitioners work with clients to help them identify and overcome obstacles to Self-realization and to develop the skills and capacities needed to live in alignment with their true nature.
